PRESENT CONTINUOUS TENSE

Present continuous (şimdiki zamanın) çekimi:

Her fiilin present continuous hali iki kısımdan oluşur - to be fiilinin present tense hali + asıl fiilin present participle hali.

(Present participle şu şekilde oluşturulur: fiil kökü+ing, örneğin: talking, playing, moving, smiling)

Olumlu
Özne	+ *to be*	+ fiil kökü + ing
She	is	talking.
Olumsuz
Özne	+ to be + not	+ fiil kökü + ing
She	is not (isn't)	talking
Soru
*to be*	+ özne	+ base + ing
Is	she	talking?

Not: Olumsuz kısaltmaların altenatif şekli şöyle de yapılabilir: I'm not going, you're not going, he's not going etc.

Present continuous tense (şimdiki zamanın) özellikleri:

Present Continuous Tense bir şeyin tam şu anda olduğunu veya yapıldığını ifade etmek için kullanılır.

Present Continuous Tense kipinin kullanıldığı yerler:

şu anda olan bir olayı ifade etmek için:
You are using the Internet.
You are studying English grammar.

belirli bir zaman boyunca devam eden bir eylemi ifade etmek için:
Are you still working for the same company?
More and more people are becoming vegetarian.

önceden planlanmış veya hazırlanmış gelecekteki bir olay veya eylemden bahsetmek için:
We're going on holiday tomorrow.
I'm meeting my boss tonight. Are they visiting you next winter?

geçici bir olay veya durumu ifade etmek için:
He usually plays the drums, but he's playing bass guitar tonight.
The weather forecast was good, but it's raining at the moment.

"always, forever, constantly" kelimeleriyle beraber devamlı tekralanan eylemleri tanımlamak veya vurgulamak için:
Harry and Sally are always arguing!
You're constantly complaining about your mother-in-law!

Not: Bazı fiiller genelde present continuous(şimdiki zamanda) kullanılmaz.

Present continuous(şimdiki zamanda) genelde kullanılmayan fiiller:

Aşağıdaki listedeki filller genellikle present formunda kullanılır. Çünkü bu filler bir olay veya eylem yerine durum ifade eder.

İstisnalar:

Duygu ve his ifade eden fiiller (see, hear, feel, taste, smell) genelde can: ile kullanılır: I can see... Bu fiiller şimdiki zamanda kullanılabilir ancak farklı bir mana ifade eder.

This coat feels nice and warm. (your perception of the coat's qualities)
John's feeling much better now (his health is improving)
She has three dogs and a cat. (possession)
She's having supper. (She's eating)
I can see Anthony in the garden (perception)
I'm seeing Anthony later (We are planning to meet)
